Police were called after shots rang out Wednesday on Augusta’s Sixth Street, but it wasn’t a crime scene.
It was instead a scene being shot for a new Bollywood movie, Detroit Crossing. The police turned up due to a misunderstanding – they were already on hand – because guns were being used, propmaster Steve Cheeks said.
The crew will spend another 22 days in Augusta filming and includes local film workers, such as Cheeks, an Augusta native, and others from around the globe, he said.
Line producer Priya Chokshi said the crew was filming in Atlanta but after coming to Augusta decided to move the rest of production here.
