The Big Picture Film & Video Foundation is pleased to announce its continued partnership with Clayton State University’s Department of Visual & Performing Arts as venue sponsor for the 2018 BigPictureCon. The BigPictureCon is a film and technology conference + Short Film Festival designed for emerging content creators and filmmakers and will be held at the Student Activity Center on Clayton State’s campus Sunday and Monday, April 8-9.
The conference is open to anyone to attend, and was designed to connect emerging digital content creators, including student and independent filmmakers, with industry professionals and peers for education, networking, and professional development. The conference includes a variety of panels, workshop and technology demos, as well as a Short Film Festival.
Entries for the Short Film Festival can be submitted at FilmFreeway.com (search for BigPictureCon). The Festival takes place Sunday, April 8th.
Anyone can submit a short film, video, webisode, sizzle reel, or other screen-based submission on pretty much any topic. However, the piece must be family-friendly for all audiences (G or PG-rated), with no graphic violence, nudity, or other inappropriate content. Maximum running time is 8 minutes. The festival features cash prizes up to $250 for the top winners, including an Audience Choice winner. A Best Student Film Award will be chosen from submissions by students age 16 up. And a Host School Award was developed for best Clayton State University submission.
“We are also showcasing our speakers in a brighter way this year,” shared Nancy Howard, BigPictureCon Executive Producer. “We have launched our Speaker portal at FilmTechConnect.com where you can view our speaker photos and bios.” Previous year speaker lists are also available as PDFs for easy download.
Registration is now open for the conference, with discounts for students and groups. Clayton State students, faculty and staff receive complimentary All Access passes, however they must register to receive their passes.
Limited media, strategic partner, and sponsorship opportunities are still available for both the film festival and the conference. Anyone is welcome to sponsor the 2018 BigPictureCon to connect with our attendees and film and television industry partners to promote an event, project or business through our extensive print, on air, and online digital promotions.
