Georgia studios Crafty Apes (visual effects) and Moonshine Post-Production (post services) have collaborated on the production of AMC Networks original series, “Lodge 49″ — the new series will debut on Monday, August 6 at 10pm EST.

Crafty Apes handled on-set supervision and all of the visual effects for the series. Moonshine Post handled real-time playback solutions, dailies and key deliverables for the project.

“Lodge 49” is a modern fable set in Long Beach, CA about a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud (Wyatt Russell), who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. Dud finds himself on the doorstep of a rundown fraternal lodge where a middle-aged plumbing salesman and “Luminous Knight” of the order, Ernie (Brent Jennings), welcomes him into a world of cheap beer, easy camaraderie and the promise of Alchemical mysteries that may — or may not — put Dud on the path to recover the idyllic life he’s lost. The series was produced almost entirely in Georgia. Watch trailer for “Lodge 49”.

Crafty Apes and Moonshine Post have become widely recognized as Atlanta’s primary post-production vendors in the feature, episodic and commercial post-production arenas. They offer an end-to-end “digital pipeline” — from script breakdown to final deliverables — for Georgia’s ever-increasing slate of studio production needs.

“As the amount of film and t.v. work has exploded year-over-year in Georgia, high-level production and post production services have become necessary to the local market,” said Crafty Apes Co-Founder Chris LeDoux. “Crafty Apes and Moonshine Post give our studio clients a local, rebate-eligible option to not only film but to finish their content here in Atlanta.”

“Moonshine Post loves to call Georgia home,” said Moonshine Post-Production Founder and Executive Producer Drew Sawyer. “Through hard work and a solid team, Moonshine now ranks among the region’s premier post houses. I’m confident we will enhance the Georgia film industry’s trend toward sustainable growth.”
