Cobb commissioners delay vote on county filming fees

A proposal to share county film permit revenues with Cobb Travel & Tourism was deemed not yet ready for the big screen by Cobb commissioners.

In 2015, the county established a film permit fee for entities that film at locations in unincorporated Cobb County, and last year the permit fee was increased from $200 to $300.

Under a proposal from Dana Johnson, who heads Cobb’s community development department, Cobb Travel & Tourism would begin receive 75 percent of the permit revenue collected for its efforts in assisting the county with the permitting process.
